| Mary Lou Moore Women's Ministry Director marylou@FCCconnect.org
Hometown Springfield, Ohio What you like best about working at FCC The people from ages 0-100 that I get to serve. Ministry/Professional background I’ve been involved in the ministry of FCC all my life. I’ve taught Sunday School, directed the preschool department for VBS, led choirs for the preschool department, led as president of a women’s fellowship, directed the puppet ministry, served as director of Young at Heart, organized Halloween alternative, worked at church camp for over 19 years, organized functions for the women and led Bible Studies. God has blessed me with many gifts and lots of friends to help. Who led you to Christ My parents brought me to church from birth. I was 3 months old when I went to my first VBS. My Mom was the secretary for VBS, she kept me in a make-shift bed in the desk drawer. Lots of SS teachers, Mr. Wilson, Leta, Peggy and Jane all had influence in my deciding to follow Christ. But I think the answer to this question is the Holy Spirit. Ater making very poor choices growing up that ended in a divorce, the power of the Holy Spirit drew me to back to Christ. He reminded me that forgiveness was available to even me! Favorite Bible verse Isaiah 40:31. I live on "eagle wings" now! Favorite book Non-fiction: Celebration of Discipline Fiction: The Yada Yada Prayer Group series Favorite music, song or artist Praise and worship Family I have been married to Rick Moore, the most patient man on earth, for 33 years. We have been blessed with 3 sons. Rick is a youth minister in Huber Heights. He is married to Marisa and they have 3 daughters, Hannah, Rebekah, and Leah. Matthew is our second son. He is a farrier (shoes horses) and is married to Kate and they have 4 children, Colter, Emma, Aubree and Mary Ellen. (Grandkids are the best!) Our third son is Ben. He is employed at Marmon Valley Farms (a Christian farm and camp). Ben is married to Jocelyn. Our daughter Ashley is attending Cincinnati Christian University and majoring in Missions. Rick and I have been blessed in so many ways, we say we’re just living the “adventure.” Favorite sport, sport team or board game I’m not much of a sports fan. I tell everybody the only time I watch a ball game is when one of my kids are playing. If one of them are not on the team, I really don’t care! Board games, I’m not to good at them either, especially Boggle, or Scrabble. (Thanks, Dell, for spell check!) Tell us something about you we never would have guessed I’m not sure there is anything you wouldn’t believe. I’m pretty much an “open book.” Maybe it would be that at one time I believed God wanted me to be a missionary. |
