| Missions at First Christian Church is defined as any cross-cultural ministry carried on outside of the local congregation. The purpose of missions is to fulfill the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. This fulfillment is done by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism, discipleship, church planting and church development. We recognize the importance of meeting other human needs while carrying on these ministries, in accordance with Christ’s Great Commission. The Scriptural Purpose of Missions - To fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Matthew 28:19-20).
- To share Christ’s heart for the world (Matthew 9:36-38; 18:10-14).
- To see men, women and children saved and brought to the knowledge of God (John 3:16, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:13-15).
- To build up the body of Christ through discipleship (Eph. 4:12-16).
- To minister to the totality of the human need (Matthew 22:37-39; 25:31-46).
Our lives are a Journey that God has put us on to make himself known to the nations. It is up to us to find God in everything we do so that we can share him with others. We must be global in our thinking and actions. Download Missions Monthly Prayer Calendar (PDF) |
