Positively Impacting Every Relationship I.A.H. CLUB is back in session on Sunday nights from 6:00 to 7:15. All 5th and 6th graders are welcome to attend any time. From now into April we are having a series of lessons about symbols for Christ, memorizing the books of the Bible, and earning points (see enclosed info) to go on a campout at Glen Helen on May 9-10. Our annual Winter Overnighter is scheduled for February 17. The kids really look forward to this event every year, and we encourage them to bring guests. The cost is $5.00 and consent forms are required. While the money can be turned in at the door, please get the consent forms in one week in advance for your own kids and their guests. These will be available in the gym and in Pier 56, along with sign-up sheets. Also coming up, with a February 10 deadline to pay the registration fees, is an overnight trip to SuperStart, being held on March 7-8 at Christ’s Church at Mason. This event is put on by Christ in Youth. The cost for students is $50, which covers registration, pizza, breakfast, and an off-site activity. The registration fee for parents who want to attend with their child is $20. Additional money will be needed for lunch on Saturday and (optional) to purchase items at the SuperStart store. Y’KNOW? is our Youth and Kids Night of Worship which is scheduled for April 27 at 6:00 p.m. The music which will be used for this night of worship is being introduced during the regular music time on Sunday mornings. The songs are upbeat, kid-appealing worship songs, some familiar and some new, and will be enhanced through a variety of means – some choreographed, one done to sign language, a couple accompanied by live instruments, and others with video elements added. Kids who plan to participate must enroll in choir in February and attend Wednesday night rehearsals during February, March, and April, as well as some Saturday and Sunday evening rehearsals scheduled for March and April. These are listed in the January-February Parent Newsletter, and will also be available in the gym and at the Splash Zone entrance on enrollment dates. BUTLER SPRINGS CHRISTIAN CAMP week for kids who are currently in grades 5 and 6 will be June 22-28. Any parents interested in serving as faculty should contact Rachel soon, as plans are being made now to make this a great week for the kids who attend. |
