| Welcome to Building U! As we journey with Christ, our spiritual growth can be compared to a building process. No one achieves spiritual maturity overnight. Building U was created as a way to develop and strengthen the spiritual growth we all long for. Offered on Wednesday nights from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, there are three 9-week quarters each year in Building U; Fall, Winter and Spring followed by a summer break. During each quarter, Building U offers six distinct growth tracks: Theology, Spiritual Formation, New Testament, Men's Fraternity, Women's Studies, and Family Life Studies. New classes are offered each quarter in each spiritual growth track. Details for each class are provided in the quarterly Adult Curriculum Guide or online at Study|Building_U|Current_Curriculm. You Pick and Choose There are two approaches to taking classes at Building U. The first approach would be to take any class that interests you. One quarter you may take a New Testament class, the next quarter you might take a Family Life Studies class. Take what you want, when you want. At the end of each quarter you will receive a certificate stating you completed the class. Each class completed is worth five (5) credit hours. Pursue a Master Certificate The second approach to taking classes at Building U would be to pursue a degree. In order to complete a degree in each spiritual growth track, 25 hours of credit are required. As an example, in order to pursue a "theology degree", you would need to take five theology classes over a span of five quarters. A "degree" requires a minimum of a year and a half of study and is designed to help you master a particular field. Whether you take different classes during each quarter or pursue a field of expertise, Building U will offer you a path to spiritual growth. Each instructor has been challenged to offer classes that will affect your knowledge of God’s word and show you how to transfer that knowledge into daily application. We hope you’ll join us Wednesday nights at Building U as we pursue spiritual growth together in our desire to become closer to God.
